What Is Roots of Solace?

Roots of Solace is an adorable, bite-sized farming adventure developed in one single week for a friendly game jam. An autonomous spirit created every single thing in the game-art, music, and code. This is a Godot-engine-based cozy endeavor. Help the lovely Raspberyl, planting berries and selling them-the minimalist but heartwarming experience.

How-To-Play

Movement: Use WASD keys
Interact: Press E (with crops, to plant crop, tent to sleep)
Jump: SPACE
Dialogue/Selection: Click the mouse
Inventory: Highlight the item you want to use/sell from the hotbar

Your assignment: Plant berries, harvest berries, and sell 10 to Raspberyl for her quest.

Tips & Tricks

Sleep to Grow: If your crops haven't sprouted yet, interact with the tent to pass the time.
Pay Attention: You'll need to highlight berries in your inventory to sell them; otherwise, Raspberyl doesn't accept the berries.
Decoration Alert: The chest's there for show only (no hidden plunder, sadly).

History

A tightly knit game jam of friends created Roots of Solace to practice Godot skills. Though very short in length, it is all handmade charm, the kind of charm that asserts that truly great things can blossom in seven short days.
