What is Nutboy Survives?

Nutboy Survives is a charming yet challenging survival sim that puts you in the little paws of the squirrel preparing for a winter. Created by Rat King Collective for November Nut Fest 2024, this mixture of resource management, exploration, and predator tense evading forces you to scavenge some food, climb up trees, and evade dangers like roaming dogs—all while time runs out!

How to Play

Manage Hunger: Keep Nutboy fed by foraging nuts and other sources of food.
Complete Goals: Fulfill daily objectives and stockpile resources in preparation for winter.
Avoid & Stop Predators: Stay alert and be wary; dogs and other threats lie in the woods.
Master Movement: Use trees to hide or help in searching for food.

Tips & Tricks

Eat Food Early: Your hunger gauge empties fast; secure some food before working on bigger tasks.
High Ground Keeps You Safe: Climbing trees will keep you hidden from predators, and you can also use it for spotting food.
Sounds Are Important!: Audio cues (barks, for example) can warn you about threats before you ever glance upon them.
Plan Your Future: Winter is definitely coming! Try to balance stockpiling for the long run with what you need right now.

History

The Nutboy Survives game belongs to the indie dev team called Rat King Collective with help from several programmers, 2D/3D artists, and animators. It was meant to be an entertaining and somewhat immersive take on survival mechanics from the perspective of a squirrel unleashed in the wild for November Nut Fest 2024.
