You are faced with an intruder demanding medicine for an excruciating headache.They provide you with two pills, both alike in appearance-one leading to a 'good' end, and the other to a menacing alternate reality, through which your choice spirals you into a bizarre world big with dreams where nothing is as it seems.
Which one you choose was the whole game: the concepts of perception, reality, and slight consequences of a small gesture. The lo-fi pixel-based graphics and the straightforward gameplay (using merely the arrow keys) add to the unnerving and disorienting ambiance.
Developed by End World & Coffee, Medicine Horror is an experimental Bitsy game, along with many other such examples, trying to invoke feelings with such simplicity. The Bitsy engine offers almost no interactions beyond walking and talking, compelling the developer to get creative within these tight boundaries.
