What is Identity V?

Identity V is an exciting asymmetrical thriller set within a Victorian World going from mystery, survival, and strategy into one intense experience. With its gothic and Tim-Burtonesque appeal, you play either as a desperate survivor in the guise of a timid angel or as a merciless hunter in a cruel game of cat and mouse. As a survivor, you solve puzzles, decode ciphers, and cooperate with someone to escape before the hunter captures you. Your darker instincts can take over, allowing you to become the hunter, using unnatural powers to find and kill your chosen prey.

How to Play

Survivors: Work together with a maximum of three other people to decode cipher machines scattered around the map. Once enough of these machines are decoded, the gates to the exit will open—but that doesn't mean the hunter won't be lurking about.
Hunter: Stop the survivors from escaping. Track, chase, and kill them using your special abilities before they achieve their goals.
Maps & Objectives: From each eerie map will go down some fun places to explore, with lots of obstacles, hiding spots, and points of interaction such as old-fashioned mansions and foggy estates.

Tips & Tricks

Survivors:
- Stick together (but not too close)—teamwork is critical, but being grouped tight makes you easy bait.
- Use pallets and windows to slow the hunter down mid-chase.
- Listen to sound cues-As the hunter gets near, the louder the heartbeat will be.
Hunter:
- Patrol cipher machines—survivors are always drawn to them anyways.
- Use your abilities wisely—some hunters are good at mobility, others are best at stealth.
- Do not tunnel-vision on a single survivor-pressure multiple targets to disrupt their progress.

Created by NetEase Games, Identity V in 2018 skyrocketed into becoming popular for its unorthodox way of mixing paranormal and multiplayer competition into one. Gaining inspiration from the classics in asymmetrical gameplay, it distinguishes itself with a delightfully dark art style and a deep lore that kept on growing with the introduction of new characters, maps, and events through time.
