DROK PLAYS LOVE is the weird, restless friendship simulator within a stealthy "don't-get-caught-by-dad" minigame. It's got social-interaction mechanics with a lo-fi aesthetic and strange humor- adrenaline if you must run from dad to hide your screen. A word of advice: grab some headphones for the dad-detecting sound cues and the chaotic charm of the game itself.
🔥 Energy management: Alternate abilities that drain energy with those that restore it to stay in the game longer.
👀 Suspicion control: Ace every dad dialogue prompt to keep his suspicion low. Flub, and he'll be hovering around like a helicopter parent.
🚪 Door strategy: Open door = better audio cues but more danger. Closed door = safer but less time to react when he knocks.
💔 Friendship decay: Watch out! The friendship bar slowly drains over time-don't leave your companion hanging.
Created by Anton Pätsi (the voice of Drok and Dad, too), this game is built in Godot 4.3 with art done in Procreate and sound design from Epidemic Sound. The absurdist tone is drawn from cult YouTube clips (Pumping Iron, DOOM Eternal glory kills—yes, really) with a pinch of the chaotic voice acting of Dungeon Soup.
There is no web version of this game, but it is so lightweight that it works well on just about any setup—just mute the tab fast if you are sneaking in a play-through in class or at work.
A note to end on: Bide your time till the ending. It's worth the heart-poundingly painful dad dodges. :o)
