What Is Si è spenta la luce?

Si è spenta la luce ("The Light Went Out") is a nervy survival-horror point-and-click title in which the player assumes the role of a child lost in a dark room during a blackout. The objective? To survive until the power does come back, combating monsters that crawl stealthily with whatever instruments can be found. With a minimalist art style and chilling atmosphere, this game takes a rather simple premise and turns it into a heart-racing nightmare.

How To Play

Click on things: interact with objects and use items accordingly.
Use the on-screen arrows to rotate your viewpoint and scan the room for lurking threats.
Pick up useful items (for example, a flashlight, toys, etc.), then click on monsters to frighten them away.
Survive the onslaught of monsters until the lights come back; should the monsters become too many, you lose.

Tips & Tricks

Keep moving: Rotate frequently so that monsters are spotted at a distance rather than when they're right up against you.
Use items sparingly: Some might be in limited supply: use them wisely.
Listen for cues: Audio cues like growls or footsteps might indicate an approaching threat.
Keep your cool: Panicking wastes time; click intentionally to make the most of every action.

History

Developed by a small team of Italians (Gabriele Attene, Giovanni Paolo Faedda, Tommaso Lampis, and Riccardo Sanna), an amalgam of conventional point-and-click mechanics and survival horror tension goes into Si è spenta la luce. Instilling the child-perspective horror with nostalgic memories of real threats and fears: hiding under covers from imagined monsters.
