What is Lurk?

A short and intense spooky loot-and-dash game where you become a brave (or desperate) bunny trapped in an abandoned building. Your goal? To scavenge trump loot enough to get out before the ghouls wake up and start hunting you down! There are only 15 seconds of calm until horror breaks loose, so every single second counts while being frantic and rushing from crates, bookshelves, and mysterious treasure chests. Created for GBJam 12 with a delightfully eerie retro aesthetic, Lurk is a fast-paced race against time and terror.

How to Play

Movement: Use arrow keys (or WASD) to move through the dark hallways.
Actions:
- Hold Z (or K): To open crates or destroy obstacles.
- Hold X (or L): To brighten your lamp (keep an eye on your oil gauge!).
Goal: Gather the quota of loot before time ends or else the ghouls shall finish you.

Tips & Tricks

Prioritize: Higher-value loot first—big chests often hold more loot but take longer to open.
Light Wasting: Use the lamp sparingly; oil depletes quickly, and the darkness is dangerous.
Listen Well: The ghouls make noise—use audio cues to evade them in the shadows.
Inkster's choice: Sometimes it's riskier to come back to that half-open crate than just leaving it!
