What is Kime Loop Traveler?

Kime Loop Traveler is an indie game with a haunting soul blend of poetry and expression. Here the player takes on the role of a modern Sisyphus, doomed to exist forever in an endless loop of dying and rebirth. Everything around you changes, but you are stuck, as time's echo. With minimal controls and a subdued, yet immersive atmosphere, this almost-existential-dread-inducing Free Short Play (about 22 minutes to obtain 100%) leaves its effect through a mesmerizing mix of visuals and sound.

Kime Loop Traveler took 1st place at DevLUp Wargames '24 for Best Visuals and Most Memorable, amongst other categories. It should be on the span of any introspective, narrative-driven experience fan.

How to Play

Mouse to move—simple, deliberate controls enhance the meditation on inevitability.
Take your time—no rush, just contemplation.
Observe the world shifting—every loop, new changes reveal themselves to the story.

Repeat ad infinitum—that's the point of the loop, not a hindrance to getting through.

History

Created by whalen (art, design, programming) and David Marsh (music, playtesting), Kime Loop Traveler began as a game jam entry across DevLUp Wargames '24. Its post-jam version is now playable in-browser and presents a polished version of the original concept. Perhaps the soundtrack, written by Marsh, is the game's highlight; his composition is ethereal and melancholic, blending flawlessly with the game's themes.
