What Menticide is

Menticide is a deep philosophy infinite runner that melds fast-paced gameplay with heavy symbolism about mental health. You take control of a man literally running from himself, using wit (and his drawing tool) to negotiate a chaotic world. Draw lines to bounce him around, block enemy sight, and cut through obstacles-all that, with only a finite meter for drawing. It is a mix of illustration action and metaphorical storytelling, one step ahead of the usual runner.

How to Play

Movement: Use A/D or arrow keys for left and right movement.
Drawing: Click and drag the mouse pointer to create lines that:
- Block enemy line-of-sight.
- Bounce projectiles.
- Redirect your character.
Draw Meter: Warning: Your ability to draw is limited! The meter drains as you draw but refill slowly on its own. At zero, you will not be able to defend against any obstacle till it fills to the brim again.

Tips & Tricks

Draw Meter Conservation: Don’t spam lines—use them strategically for maximum coverage.
Plan Ahead: Enemies and obstacles come at you fast. Think about how you’ll bounce off or block them before they’re upon you.
Movement Is Key: Even with drawing, try to keep moving; dodge when possible and draw when necessary.

Download the game files.
Unzip the folder (right-click 'Extract Fields' on Windows).
Run the game:
- In Windows: Launch the .exe.
- In Mac: Launch the Menticide-mac application.

About the Game

Menticide is still very early in development, with an update coming out in December. With a team led by Milo Justice (Producer) and William Titus (Programmer), it offers a blend of striking art, tight gameplay, and a meaningful message. Look out for some future refinements!
